#main#main#main#main#main: "Barack Obama's own website admits he was a Citizen of Kenya! On his campaign website, 'Fight The Smears,' there is, of course, some self-serving material, and a copy of the 'Certification of Live Birth' (COLB) which Obama first gave to the far-left website, 'Daily Kos,' before publishing it on its own website. (There is a controversy regarding how and why the Obama campaign would give 'Daily Kos' the COLB before the campaign itself adopted and posted it.) This is the very 'Certification of Live Birth' that has been the subject of much controversy with some forensic experts concluding it is a fake. Regardless of its authenticity, in and of itself, a COLB proves nothing - in Hawaii, it can be issued on behalf of children born out-of-state or out-of-country.*
But, the Obama campaign website also contains the following shocking disclosure from factcheck.org which provides:"

No it cannot. Who told you it could? Hawaii law does not allow a birth document that says that someone who was not born in the state was born in the state. If you were born outside of Hawaii and your parents had lived in Hawaii the right number of months, then you can get a Hawaii document, but it cannot say that you were born in Hawaii. For example, if you were born in New Jersey, it allows Hawaii to issue a document that reads like this: "Hawaii birth certificate. Place of Birth: New Jersey."

Significantly, however, even this law was not passed when Obama was born. It was passed more than twenty years later, in 1982. So a foreign birth certificate could not be filed. So the original birth certificate in his file is a Hawaii birth certificate.

Re:"(There is a controversy regarding how and why the Obama campaign would give 'Daily Kos' the COLB before the campaign itself adopted and posted it.)"

No controversy. Obama was the first president to show his birth certificate. His campaign gave it out to anyone who asked for it. He showed it to the Dail KOS, and to Polifact and FactCheck, and he posted it on his own site.

More importantly, the facts on the birth certificate, that Obama was born in Hawaii, were authenticated twice by the officials in Hawaii, and a their statement meant that there was proof Obama was born in Hawaii. (http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/11/obama_hawaaianborn_citizen_for.html)

The two notices that appeared in the newspapers on the weekend after Obama's birth were sent out by the government of Hawaii, which it did at the time for all children born in Hawaii, and not for children born outside of Hawaii.

As the Wall Street Journal commented: "Further, if Congress were to pass the so-called birther bill, Obama would be able to comply easily. The bill would require presidential campaigns to submit “a copy of the candidate’s birth certificate” to the Federal Election Commission. The certificate Obama has released publicly would meet this requirement."

And it concluded: "Obama has already provided a legal birth certificate demonstrating that he was born in Hawaii. No one has produced any serious evidence to the contrary. Absent such evidence, it is unreasonable to deny that Obama has met the burden of proof. We know that he was born in Honolulu as surely as we know that Bill Clinton was born in Hope, Ark., or George W. Bush in New Haven, Conn."
